
Anne Parmley
Anne Parmley, President
Anne Parmley has a history as an active Iowa community volunteer and advocate.
Born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Anne spent a few years in other Iowa communities – including Le Mars, Pella, Manchester and Webster City – before returning to her hometown.
Anne currently serves as Community Impact Director at TrueNorth Companies, a privately held insurance brokerage firm with Iowa locations in Cedar Rapids and Des Moines. In this leadership role, Anne administers corporate philanthropy, volunteerism and community engagement.
Prior to 2021, Anne served in various leadership roles at Pearson, the world’s leading learning company, for over 18 years. For 15 years, she supported the large-scale, high stakes assessment business for Pearson based out of Iowa, most recently as Senior Vice President, Client Services and Iowa General Manager.
Anne has also led client engagement and business development for Pearson’s Online and Blended Learning group, which delivers virtual learning services for blended and fully virtual K-12 schools across the United States.
Before her years at Pearson, Anne worked in business development for Stamats and Crystal Group. She also served as Director of Admissions at Central College in Pella. Within the Corridor and state, Anne is involved in several organizations that support education, family welfare, and economic development.
Today, Anne serves on the boards for Four Oaks Family and Children Services, UnityPoint Health - St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, Kirkwood Community College’s Foundation and the Linn County Gaming Association. She enjoys networking, mentoring and developing leadership talent in young people and rising leaders.
Anne attended Illinois Wesleyan University, graduated from Drake University, and has an MBA from the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business. She is married with two children, one of whom has degrees from both Kirkwood Community College and the University of Iowa.
Todd Bergen
Todd Bergen, Secretary and Treasurer
Todd Bergen is currently Vice President of Commercial Real Estate and Business Development for Skogman Realty. Today, he is responsible for providing leadership and support to Skogman's talented group of commercial agents and executing strategies that enhance Skogman Commercial's brand and presence in the Cedar Rapids-Iowa City area.
Prior to joining Skogman in 2019, Todd served in several senior management positions with Transamerica, including Vice President, Managing Director Third-Party Operations; Managing Director, Latin America; and Program Manager, Mergers and Acquisitions.
He also served as Transamerica’s Cedar Rapids-Iowa City representative for local government, community and economic development organizations. In addition, he provided executive leadership for Transamerica’s United Way campaign and served as the primary community contact for Transamerica’s Cedar Rapids Foundation committee.
Before joining Transamerica, Todd was with Priority One, the economic development division of the Cedar Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce (now the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance), serving as its President from 1993 to 2000. During his tenure, Priority One was responsible for assisting hundreds of local companies with their growth initiatives.
He was also responsible for recruiting new businesses, helping to attract dozens of companies from six different countries to the Cedar Rapids area. He also led the Chamber’s demographic and economic analysis initiatives and its first workforce recruitment and development initiative, including the creation of the Corridor Careers website.
He is a past Chair and Commission member of The Eastern Iowa Airport Commission, past Chair of the Theatre Cedar Rapids board of directors and past board member of The Hall-Perrine Foundation.
A lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids, Todd holds a B.A. in Political Science and an M.A. in Urban and Regional Planning, with an emphasis in Economic Development Planning, both from the University of Iowa. He is married and has three children.
Kirsten Running-Marquardt
Supervisor Chair, ex-officio, non-voting member representing the Linn County Board of Supervisors
Kirsten Running-Marquardt was born and raised in southwest Cedar Rapids. She previously served in the Iowa House from 2009 to 2021 before being elected to the Linn County Board of Supervisors.
Today, Kirsten serves as Linn County’s District 1 Supervisor, as well as the 2024 chair of the board. The Linn County Board of Supervisors is the legislative, policy-making and administrative branch of county government. The Board is responsible for enforcing ordinances, setting the annual county levy rate, certifying the annual budget, overseeing Linn County’s budget, guiding the strategic direction of the County, and other matters related to the health and welfare of Linn County and its residents.
Kirsten is a member of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE), Ironworkers Local 89, St. John XXIII Catholic Church, and board member for the Iowa Small Business Development Center, Iowa Workforce Development and the History Center (Linn County). She previously served as director of Iowa for Health Care and on the staff for the Iowa congressional delegation.
A graduate of LaSalle High School and an attendee of Kirkwood Community College, Kirsten has a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in public policy. She lives on the west side of Cedar Rapids with her husband and son.
